While most of us see lions in our local zoos, these big cats can still be found in the wild in certain parts of Asia, India, and Sub-Saharan Africa. The average male lion lives approximately 8 years while females can live up to 14 years if they are in a properly monitored habitat. The average lionruns up to 50 miles per hour.
